'We are all one' is a multimedia, intercultural art event which opens Thursday evening, October 12. Four progressive dinner routes throughout Lexington serve as the opening reception for the visual and creative arts of the evening. At each location a portion of a 100 piece art exhibit will be seen as well as a performance by the members of the organization at that site. Each progressive dinner route begins and ends at Art-at-the-Cathedral, the main gallery for the exhibition. The progression on each route is made up by an appetizer, an entrée and a dessert.
Complete descriptions and pricing information is available at the Downtown Arts Center Box Office, 141 East Main Street, Monday through Saturday, 10-8; Sunday 10-5. Or click here . For tickets call 859-225-0370 or to purchase online click here.
The visual art was created by members of a national guild of artists: Society of Layerists in Multimedia (SLMM)?a society of equals designed to encourage creative expression and dynamic growth, regardless of style and medium. "It connects us to our selves, each other as human beings", says SLMM president Nancy Dunaway, "And the universe itself."
While the visual arts tie it all together, each participating site presents their mission by a performance or presentation. Art-at-the-Cathedral is the starting point and opens at 5:00 p.m.
